We are still waiting....

Not really any new updates to mention, we are in the third phase of the disability and still have not heard anything about the hearing date. Sometimes it can really get frustrating just waiting. But according to God's word, There are 190 times that wait is in the Bible. God seem to take people to where he wanted them to do something then he would say wait.
Over and over in the word of God men were told to go to the edge of the city and wait, or they were told they were called to do a work for the Lord and then told to wait upon that calling.
One of the hardest things as a Christian is not to get ahead of God. So many times in our lives we find ourselves waiting.
Waiting to be old enough to drive, waiting to graduate, waiting on direction for our lives. Waiting on that perfect mate that God has for you, Waiting on the special baby to enter the world, waiting on the ministry that God has for you, waiting on that perfect job, waiting, waiting, waiting.
So many of these decisions that we wait on would become disasterous if we were not to wait, Example...quit school, drive without license, I think you get my point.
We have so many things we can learn if we will learn to wait upon the Lord and his timing of things.
If you ever need encouragement to wait, Just read Psalms and realize that God blesses our waiting upon him.
Psalms 40:[1] I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.
Psalms 52:[9] I will praise thee for ever, because thou hast done it: and I will wait on thy name; for it is good before thy saints.

When I read this last Psalm, I was reminded of a young man that recently got married, he is 31 years old and has waited on God for the right wife. He has now reaped the benefit of the blessings of having that perfect mate that God intended for him to have. No doubt at times in his life he wanted to get ahead of God, but as it says in this verse "for it is good before thy saints." His testimony has been a blessing to so many saints, that others can see that God gets the Glory and that it is worth waiting upon the Lord no matter how long it takes.

This concept is such a foreign concept to most people in our world today, we want to fix our situations, we want to make it all better, we want to find that perfect mate, we want things to be smooth.
When we first started into this trial, We would sit and scratch our heads and say what in the world are we going to do, What can I do to make money? Where can I go get a job? What do you want us to do Lord? We were trying to do everything but sit and wait upon God. He was telling us over and over Be still and know that I am God, I cannot tell you how many times I heard preachers preach on that verse, or that verse would come up in my devotions or in a book that I was reading, Over and over the Lord just kept telling us to be still....THAT IS FOREIGN! How can we be still when we have no income and we do not know how our bills are going to be paid?
We've got to do something, right? No, God said be still.
Every door I tried to walk through, God closed it, so then finally after much frustration We sat still. Psalms 46: [10] Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.
This verse means more to me today than it ever has before, the part about knowing that I am God. God has shown himself to us in so many ways this past year.
If we will get still before the Lord and wait upon him, we will see a God that we have never seen before. If God tells you to wait, Wait!
Someone recently asked me to sit down and write up some of the things that the Lord has done for us this past year. When I began to write and figure out what all the Lord has done for us, I stood amazed in the miracle that God has performed in our lives. I was thinking we were in poverty until I figured up the money that God has given us this year. We are well above the poverty level for the year. He has paid our bills and been so faithful to us. If God wants you to be still, it probably means that he has something miraculous he wants to do in your life and you are going to miss out if you get ahead of God.
Is 41:[31] But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

When you wait upon the Lord and he shows himself to you it renews your strength and gives you new wings to fly and gives you the ability to take off running again when he says go, and then you can walk with him and not faint because you can look back and remember the times you could not walk and he carried you through.
I serve a God that I know more about at this point in my life than I ever knew before I began to sit still. Sometimes we are runing so hard to even be aware that he is really there.
Be Still and know that He is God.

The Neglected Vineyard

Our Pastor preached a message out of Song of Solomon chapter 1 verse 6 last night about our vineyard.

6 Look not upon me, because I am black, because the sun hath looked upon me: my mother's children were angry with me; they made me the keeper of the vineyards; but mine own vineyard have I not kept.

What a truth he brought out in the message.
We all have vineyards that we tend to everyday. Whether it is the vineyard of our job, our children, our play time, whatever it may be, if you will see in that verse that she was not lazy and she was a keeper of others vineyards, but her own vineyard she had not kept.
It is so easy for us to tend to other vineyards and they may very well be good things, but if we are not careful we can neglect our own vineyard in our lives.
We must make it a priority in our lives to make sure we read our Bible and pray and make our walk with the Lord a top priority.
It is so easy to get busy that we quickly begin to listen to Satan's excuses that he will give us and before we know it our Bible reading has taken a back seat.
Show me a man that has fallen and I will show you an man that has stopped reading his Bible.

Let's try not to neglect our vineyard today.

The Heavens Declare the Glory of God.

Psalms 19:1
The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.

I pray you have a wonderful day. God has blessed us with wonderful weather today here in Kentucky. It has been a good day to open the windows and let the fresh air in. I pray that today you will take time to stop and thank God for his goodness in your life and take a minute to stop and enjoy his handywork.
He is worthy to be praised!

Great News!

Yesterday we received another letter in the mail from the govenor, Mike's case has now been moved into the hearing phase of the proceedings. Praise the Lord.
We are very excited to see how quickly this part of the proceedings will go.
I think we are finally winding down. I hope.
The Lord is still blessing us so much. Sarah was given a school program that would not upload to our laptop so we needed a computer for her to do her school work. The Lord gave her a brand new computer with a brand new computer desk and the program loaded right up to the new computer.
Last night we had company that stopped by and gave us some money just in time for pressing bills.
It is awesome to see God come through right on time. He is never late. I honestly stand amazed. I know I shouldn't but it still blows me away each time I see him supply our need. I feel so unworthy but yet he still blesses me everyday.
God is my refuge and strength, a very present help in time of trouble.
Praise the Lord.
I am forever His.
