What Will Bring Success in My Walk with the Lord?

What Will Bring Success in My Walk With the Lord?
What Will Bring Success in My Walk With the Lord? As I began to think about what I was to write to young Christians, I started to reflect back to when I was a young Christian. I started to analyze what is it that keeps us faithful to the Lord? So many times people start coming to church and they get involved and before long they have fallen by the wayside. What keeps some successful and some not? As I pondered, I realized that early on, I was continually told the importance of Bible reading. Too many times we turn over a new leaf, we get all excited and jump right in and before long we fizzle out. Why? We put too much stock in our own abilities to stay faithful to the Lord. If we want to be successful in our Christian walk we must realize even our mere faithfulness comes from the Lord and His strength. How do we receive His strength? We draw strength from God’s word. We must realize that we are clean through God’s Word as it says in John 15:3 Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. We as a sinful people do not like to go to God’s word, In Hebrews God’s word tell us it discerns our thoughts, it shows us who we really are. Hebrews 4: 12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Isa.55: 8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. We think differently than God does. In Romans God’s word tells us to renew our minds. Romans 12: 2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. As we read and study, God begins to change our thinking to his thinking. The Bible (King James Version only) is alive. God speaks to us through his word. As a mother desires her child to learn and understand HER words of training, He also desires us to understand HIS words of training and to learn to walk in obedience to HIS word. He even makes prevision in His word for us to trust, if we don’t understand he tells us in James 1: 5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. The more you read, the more you will renew your mind to His mind. Then you will begin to have good success. Joshua 1: 8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. It is too easy to skim over God’s word, because we think we know it or we have heard it before. If you just chose to skim over God’s word, go back and really read HIS words, my words may help point you in the right direction, BUT God’s words will change your life. We have a hidden treasure at our fingertips.
